Keys to life…

Ok, this is going to be short and it comes from personal experience as of late.

Romans 5-8 has totally rocked my world in the past 5 months! I believe it is a key to changing ones spiritual and emotional identity. Around January I was challenged to study chapters 5-8. I took the challenge and I’m so happy I did. Grace and the ramifications of the cross hit me like a nuclear bomb, blowing away all of my pre- established beliefs.

What changed? My identity or how I perceived myself. Jesus died on the cross and we (all mankind was co crucified with him AT THAT MOMENT) were co-raised with him. This act was a re-genesis of our spiritual man. Our sin man was decimated. The law of sin and death was revoked. The free gift of forgiveness and grace was appropriated to all mankind. We were given the ability to accept this gift and step into His fullness. The verse ” there is now, no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, behold all has become new!” actually means literally what it says. I no longer have the notion that I have failed and fall short and and am filled with guilt and shame.

My identity is defined by God, I don’t define myself, he does. He says he sees him in me! (2 Corinthians 3:18)

I said I would keep this short so if you have questions or comments please reply below.

Grace grace!

About Ben Kilen

I am a average guy father of 4. I don't claim any super powers or amazing talents. I do have a double jointed thumb and I have always hoped it would bring me wealth and fame but so far it hasn't. I am an eclectic music lover as long and by music current day main stream rap does not qualify as music. Anything that has one to two sentences hammered over and over with no melody or excessive auto tune does not qualify.

Thank you. I have questions. I will ask soon. Still expelling wrong mind sets. Just when I feel free the lies come from yet another direction I wasn’t expecting.

Oh! I have a question! I have a question! Just in way of clarification. Scripture is plain that grace is not a “license” to sin. So, if we should go back into a sinful lifestyle, that is to “embrace” sin, and no longer resist it, you’re not saying God will overlook these things…right? I just want to be sure I’m understanding you here.

A couple comments and some scripture.

When Jesus healed he often said “your sins are forgiven, go and sin no more.” Also, when he went to Zacheus, the Z man automatically replied “i will repay those who I have wronged by repaying them 4x’s what I have cheated” loose paraphrase. He saw without having Jesus reprimand him about his sin etc. Z man saw the Son of God and was changed by seeing Him (unconditional love and grace in flesh).

True grace draws one to Jesus not away. If you get that epiphany of what God did via the cross and his son you will be compelled, drawn, and wow’d into him.

      Titus 2:11-12
      New King James Version (NKJV)
      Trained by Saving Grace

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

      1 John 3:6-8
      New King James Version (NKJV)
6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Also Ephesians 4:27 which says “don’t give place to the devil”

Those who claim to have grace down but c continue to make a lifestyle of walking in sin with a grace license are deceived plain and simple.

Here are some statements that I have heard just in the last seven days from men & women of god that I have highly esteemed – these statements send me right back to the law of sin anmd death and the working for gods love and approval mentality….. mark 11:23 & 24, whosoever shall say and shall not doubt in his heart shall have whatsoever he saith” just so long as there is no strife or unforgiveness because gods power doesn’t work in us if there is srife or unforviveness. And what’s more if we don’t forgive god won’t forgive us. If we have fear or doubt god will not hear us because fear is the opposite of faith and without faith it is impossible to please god. If we want to be blessed and favored with the blessings of god then we must tithe 10 percent and follow gods principles set forth in Deuteronomy. If we sin we must repent with a right
Heart and not do it again or we won’t be blessed and favored – surley we will beforgiven But not favored. And god is a god of second chances and has plan d e f and g when we fail plan a b and c. But he also makes us accountable to pay the consequences of our failure and it could take up to 40 years or even 100 years as in abrahams case to reach the promise land because if our failure and disobedience. I tell you it is exhausting and heart wrenching to keep up with all the checks and balances of our failures, beliefs, forgiveness ,disobedience, fears, lack of faith, strife, accountability, love, lack of love, courage, cowardice, humility
, pride…… oh-my-lanta it never ends!!!! I feel like if I don’t close my ears to every fottering preacher and only listen to the mirror translation, Andre rabe, Ben kilen and darrell creswell then I fall into the pit of despair, deceit and hopelessness!!! None of this fodder is in line with the gift of grace and redemption that Jesus died for us to have. But when one is struggling to find the truth of who we are in christ jesus it is enough to take you down instead of up where we belong.

Wow that’s a lot but guess what? My God likes me here and now and that knowing he likes me in my present state and that he sees me in his grace and favor even if I feel I’m a turd, I can deal with that. My identity has to be rooted ans founded in what he says of me. 2 Corinthians 3:17

17 The Lord in the spirit are one; his lordship sanctions our freedom. A freedom from rules chiseled in stone voice of our redeemed design echoing in our hearts!

18 the days of window shopping are over! In him every face is unveiled. In gazing with wonder at the blueprint likeness of God displayed in human form we suddenly realize that we are looking at ourselves! every feature of his image is mirrored in us! This is the most radical transformation engineered by the Spirit of the Lord; we are led from an inferior mindset to the revealed indorsement of our authentic identity. Mankind in His glory!

The Mark 11:23-24 part, ok so I don’t see any issues with it if you look at it with grace glasses, if you look at it with law glasses t Han yes go ahead live under the law try to be perfect work your miracles up yourself and push on in a rock pile and hammer mentality.

We should already be pushing in to forgiving others we should be pressing into a relationship with Jesus. If we are seeking him and filling our spirit with the things that are eternal and Godly I bet you will have less issues with heart matters such as an unforgiving heart. As you seek him your ability to walk in His faith will expand. It’s natural! What you put in will come out,

You don’t have to work at pleasing God. Goes back to the cross, I’d we would have had the ability to garner favor or gain our own liberty Jesus would not have had been sacrificed on the cross. He paid ONE TIME for all your sin (past present and future).

My faith and identity comes from what he thinks about me via his unconditional love and grace.

How many sins does it take for man to be separated from God…..

      No not one.

The answer is zero we were born into it.but he knew that in advance and paid the price or us that we may be called sons a nd daughters of God.

Right off the bat thank you for forcing me to laugh out loud with the turd comment!! I needed that!!! Second, thank you for all the rest of it! I needed backup that I am on the right track. Shaking wrong mindsets that entered in from those you esteemed are hard strongholds to expel. As much as I know, I believed what Jesus said. “Love god with all your heart soul strength and mind and love others as he has loved you. Always forgive and always love. That is pretty much how I live. Then I went on this mission to dig around down deep for unforgiveness because according to who I was following suggested it and other things must be there if life isn’t being kind and god isn’t hearing me. But I have been studying in romans and am loving it and living it!!!! Now I must expel these bozo’s and what they teach from my world lest they continue to suck me back into their web. Thank you just so much for lifting me up and keeping me straight while I heal and overcome the strongholds!!
